Dear Reader,
The issue of retirement involves us all. It is a disquieting topic, calling our emotions into play, as we are dealing with money that we have put aside for years. It is the subject of debate among politicians, economists, sociologists and everyday people, who will feel for themselves the results of the construction of this or that retirement system. “e-Finanse” joins this discussion in this issue. Here we present an article by Professor Jan Monkiewicz on the reform of this system. There is also an article by Professor Wanda Sułkowska which presents the barriers to development of the insurance market in Poland, in which one of the issues is retirement. At the end of June the editors of “e-Finanse” plan to organize a seminar focused on retirement insurance in Poland, we’ll tell you more about this on our web page. At the same time we continue our series on another important issue which touches us all – the funding of public healthcare in our country. In the latest article on this topic Dr. Małgorzata Paszkowska writes about the financing of medical service providers on the Polish market.
In this issue we’ve also gathered some interesting articles on the visualization of discounting processes (Prof. Jerzy Jakubczyc), indicators reflecting the performance of commercial bank value management (Dariusz Siudak, M.S.) and direct foreign investment (a continuation of the article from the previous issue by Dr. Javorcik and Dr. Kaminski).
